Inspired by a true story, J.D. Dillard brings Devotion to the big screen.

Directed by J.D. Dillard, Devotion tells the harrowing true story of two elite US Navy fighter pilots during the Korean War. Their heroic sacrifices would ultimately make them the Navy's most celebrated wingmen. DNEG was proud to contribute 679 shots across 22 sequences on the film.

The project required a large variety of visual effects work, ranging from vast battle environments to intricate cities that would be destroyed during the Korean War. The team also designed faithful reconstructions of period ships and aircraft to ensure historical accuracy. To create the stunning photorealistic scenes in the movie, the DNEG Virtual Production team also used LED volume technology on-set to allow actors to perform in front of immersive and authentic environments, enhancing storytelling and allowing the audience to be transported to the aerial battlegrounds.

With over 20 months of post-production work, the DNEG team took Devotion’s visual effects to soaring new heights.
